The right coating system for long-lasting steel
After blasting, a primer is applied, followed by intermediate and topcoats. The type and thickness of coating are chosen for the conditions the steel will face: a ship and a container need different coatings.
We apply coatings with 9 high-pressure airless spray units, measuring air temperature, humidity and dew point. We apply epoxy primers, polyurethane topcoats, vinyl ester, solvent-free epoxy and fire-retardant systems.

About industrial painting
How is a coating system selected?
The coating system is selected according to the ISO 12944 corrosivity category of the service environment (C1 – C5), the required durability and the coating manufacturer’s technical specification. A ship and a container need different coatings.
How do you check coating thickness?
We measure dry film thickness with an Elcometer 456 (0–1500 µm) and a DeFelsko PosiTector 6000 FTS (0–6000 µm), and monitor dew point and humidity with an Elcometer 319 before application. Results are delivered as test reports.
Which paint brands do you apply?
Depending on the specification we apply Jotun, Hempel, International (AkzoNobel), PPG, Kansai Altan and Kanat Boya products. All paints, primers and resins come from TSE-, ISO- or CE-certified manufacturers.
What is a shop primer?
A shop primer is a thin primer applied immediately after blasting. It protects the steel temporarily during fabrication, storage and erection and is compatible with the subsequent coating system. It can be applied to rolled sections on our automatic tunnel line.
